Why we are removing over 60s concessions?
After a very difficult few years for The Theatre and a period of financial review, we’re increasing our ticket prices and changing who our concessions apply to. This applies from 1st September onwards. Our margins are very tight and we must keep pace with the inflating costs of our operation, whilst ensuring that those who need financial support to attend the theatre still receive it. We are not a profit making business and as a charity we continue to reinvest in our community at all times. We have chosen to focus our new concessions list on those across our community who most need it, with a targeted measure of need, so that we can support them in a deeper and more meaningful way.
We want The Theatre to be here for years to come and these changes will help to ensure we are.
Other concession types include:
- Under 16s
- Disability Allowance
- Unwaged Allowance
- NUS card holders
- NHS workers
- Pension Credit*
*One of the new concessions types includes those on Pension Credit, which is is a Government benefit that helps those of State Pension age on a low income. To see if you are eligible please visit the Government website - https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit/eligibility
