The Theatre Chipping Norton is appealing to all ages within the community to bring the theatre into their lives this new year. With personal growth and mental wellbeing being two of the most popular New Year resolutions, The Theatre believes its programme of ticketed performances, and classes, offer something to benefit everyone.
Research in 20251 found that one in four people classified theatre as the most joyful night out of their social activities, with the performance, its energy and the theatre’s atmosphere being the reason for this. Going to the theatre also helps people feel uplifted, inspired and energised. The new year is the most popular time for seeking inspiration and ways to boost mental well being, and The Theatre is confident it’s programme will inspire all ages.
Going to the theatre also helps people step away from their daily challenges, allowing them to be transported to new places, situations, even time periods. Sixty percent of people say that going to the theatre provides an escape when they need it. From theatre to comedy, being absorbed in another world helps switch off from devices, work and what people might be facing for an hour or too.
The Theatre’s boutique auditorium holds just 200 people, a perfect venue to share performances with family and friends. This spring there are five live theatre productions, four comedy acts, four music performances and 20 cinema and live screenings, including shows specifically for families and young children.
Their ‘Take Part’ programme of classes, from drama to dance, also provides a new year opportunity to meet new people for children from six months old to adults over sixty.
Tickets for The Theatre start at £5 and for Cinema from £6.
