Welcome back to Chippy Theatre.
We've missed you!
It has been announced that Oxfordshire is in Tier 2 and therefore we are able to resume our live and cinema programme as of the 3rd of December. As a COVID secure venue, we can welcome audiences in a socially distanced manner, maintaining social bubbles of no more than 6 people.
The live programme planned for Autumn 2020 has been rescheduled to the Spring where possible, though some events have been cancelled, and our pantomime, Rapunzel, will now be staged for Christmas 2021, but we will be presenting A Christmas Carol, live, as our festive production.
What to expect when you visit
We have put a range of changes in place to keep you and our staff safe, and to meet government guidelines. They are straight forward, unintrusive and in-line with the latest government advice.
Socially distanced seating plan, with bubbles of no more than 6 people, from 1 household or support bubble.
Masks or face coverings should be worn at all times by anyone over 11 in the bar and foyer. In line with government guidance, masks may be removed in the auditorium if you are consuming food or drinks.
A one way system is in use and will be clearly signposted for you upon arrival.
Sanitizing stations located in every area of the building.
Enhanced anti-viral cleaning procedures.
Contactless payment encouraged at the bar and box office
If you are feeling unwell, or have a fever, please don't attend.
If you need to cancel your visit due to self-quarantine, we will do our best to reseat you for a future performance,
or offer you a box office credit note (minus a small admin fee of £1 per ticket).
Socially Distanced Seating (Films and Screenings)
For films and screenings, audiences will be seated in groups "one metre plus" apart, according to our socially-distanced seating plan. Seating capacity will be between 55 and 75 depending on the sizes of social bubbles. In order to facilitate social distancing and Track and Trace, all guests would be required to book their seats via our box office. According to current rules, social bubbles should only contain people from 1 household or support bubble.
All in-person workshops use rooms marked up for social distancing. Workshop leaders will wear masks, though masks are not compulsory for participants. Further guidance will be given by the workshop leader, and in advance by letter or email.
