What We Offer
Primary Workshops
Our Primary Workshops are the perfect introduction to Pantomime. Led by an industry professional, this 1 hour session will cover character archetypes, traditional panto conventions and performance devices. There will be access to previous props and costumes from The Theatre's pantomimes, as well as direct references to the current production, which will prepare the pupils for their upcoming panto experience.
These sessions are designed for a class of up to 30 pupils between Year 3 - Year 6, and are an ideal warm up workshop to undertake 1-2 weeks before attending a performance.
Workshops will be available between mid-October and mid-January and require a large space such as a school hall to take place. Hour-long slots are available between 10am and 2pm on school days.
Cost: £105 per session (approx. £3.50 per child)
Secondary Workshops
Our Secondary workshops are an excellent opportunity to dive deeper into Pantomime, with a focus on traditional coventions, characters, and developing panto-specific performance skills. Led by industry professionals, groups will have access to props, costume, and extracts from the current pantomime production which they will use to work on their own short performance of panto scenes. These sessions are approximately 3 hours long, including a break, and culminate in the groups performing to their teachers and peers.
Secondary workshops are designed for up to 40 students in Year 7 & 8, and can take place at your school, or here at The Theatre, depending on availability. If taking place at school, these workshops require 2 rooms suitable for drama exercises. Many schools like to match their workshop date to the day they attend a performance, so the students can witness how the scenes they have been studying have been lifted off the page onto the stage.
Cost: £360 (approx. £9 per student)
