Wendy Weiss
Wendy joined the Take Part team in 2020
Wendy's love of drama began when she took A Level Theatre Studies as part of the Year Out Drama course in Stratford-upon-Avon. She then went on to study for a degree in French and German, and after pursuing a career as a translator and raising a family, she decided to return to her initial passion for drama. She spent several years volunteering and working at local drama clubs in Oxford and becoming an experienced drama facilitator working with young people aged five to seventeen. Wendy also ran a storytelling club at a local primary school where she used games, arts and crafts, music and movement to bring stories to life. The club was successfully reinvented for the online setting post-lockdown. Wendy has recently completed a Masters in Applied Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama which included a placement in Cape Town in South Africa, where she devised and delivered drama-based workshops in a children's hospital and several schools. She looks forward to implementing some of that knowledge in creating a wide range of workshops for young people.
On working at The Theatre Wendy says, “I love the welcoming atmosphere at Chipping Norton Theatre and feel privileged to work with the creative young participants who come along to the drama sessions there.”
