Clare O'Hara
Clare launched the Theatre’s community programme of targeted support in 2020, and ran this for five years. This included launching the free school meal programme, bursary scheme, community tickets, and targeted projects with schools, care homes and community groups focusing on mental health, SEN, SEMH needs, trauma and adverse childhood experiences. During this time, the community scheme grew into a significant and thriving arm of the theatre. At the end of 2025, Clare moved into the role of Mental Health and Community Project Manager, a part-time role that she does alongside supporting her little boy who is in school part-time due to SEN. She continues to lead on the schools mental health programme, as well as delivering an exciting new talent development project and advocating nationally for more importance, funding and time to be granted to community work within theatres.
Prior to joining the theatre, Clare previously worked at Cambridge Junction, the Royal Court, the Young Vic and Hampstead Theatre. She studied at Cambridge and RADA. Before moving into community work, Clare was a play reader and dramaturg. Clare read plays for the National Theatre, the Bush, Hampstead Theatre, Theatre 503 and the Bruntwood Prize. As a dramaturg, plays Clare has worked on have been nominated for an Olivier Award and Alfred Fagon Award, and won awards from New Writing South and the Stage.
