Bar Staff

The Theatre is heading into a busy Autumn and a much missed Panto season, and we're looking for some warm and friendly individuals to join the Front of House team! The bar team work alongside the Duty Manager and our team of volunteer ushers to help deliver a fantastic welcome to our customers.

The role is unlike many other bar jobs as it is focused on short bursts of busyness for incoming audiences and during an interval, surrounded by lots of time to clear and prep the bar. Our bar team work fixed 2-3 hour shifts which are predominantly early evening, but also include afternoons. Shifts are arranged on a monthly rota dependant on your availability. 

The Theatre is a lively and friendly place to work, with a real sense of community belonging. We have all sorts of audience members to look after and friendly staff/volunteers to interact with. All staff at The Theatre are entitled to book complimentary tickets to performances that are not sold out, and we hold a number of social events during the year.

Chaperone: Chipping Norton Theatre Pantomime

We are recruiting chaperones to join the team for our production of Rapunzel at Chipping Norton Theatre. Our ‘traditional-with-a-twist’ pantomime is nationally regarded as one of the best family shows. Each year we work with three teams of four children (aged 9-14), who play an integral role as performers in the show, alongside the professional adult cast.

As a Chaperone you will ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child actors in your care and report directly to the Lead Chaperone.

Your main duties will include:

  • Being responsible for escorting and supervising the children
  • Ensuring daily records are completed
  • Ensuring that the children are behaving in a quiet and safe manner at all times whilst they are on the premises.
  • Assisting with costume changes where required.
  • Passing on any safeguarding concerns to relevant staff at The Theatre.

We are looking for chaperones to support with both occasional and regular shifts during the rehearsals (25th Oct – 16th Nov) and performances (17th Nov – 16th Jan 2022). In particular (but not exclusively) we would welcome those with daytime term-time availability. Pay rate is £10.75 p/h. Previous experience of chaperoning welcome but not essential, but all candidates will need a recent DBS records check and a chaperone license (which, in both cases, we can help to obtain). Chaperones must be at least 18 years old.

Trustees

The Theatre is looking to fill some vacant positions within the board, and help to power the organisation forward into an exciting future. In particular, we would like to meet candidates with skills, connections and lived experience in the following areas:

·         Harder to reach parts of our community 

·         Participatory and community arts work 

·         Customer care 

·         Property 

·         Arts within Health and Wellbeing 

We are interested in speaking with a wide range of candidates of all ages and backgrounds. We are invested in supporting younger candidates and those without previous experience of operating as a Trustee, and would offer a range of support including mentorships with existing Trustees.
