Playing at The Theatre

Sun 20th September

Bizet’s Carmen is one of the most famous operas ever written; with themes of feminine strength, toxic masculinity and jealousy, it remains relevant in the 21st century.  Whilst deployed with the Spanish Army, Don Jose falls in love with Carmen who is imprisoned. Carmen seduces Don Jose to secure her freedom and convinces him to join her gypsy lifestyle. But other lovers appear on the scene and Don Jose’s jealousy mounts.

A story steeped in drama, romance, passion and violence, featuring arias such as the “Toreador”, the “Flower Song” and the “Habanera”. Sung in French with English captions.
