About Dance with Parkinson's

Our new Dance with Parkinson’s sessions, are designed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson’s, along with their families and carers.

This fun, friendly, uplifting and social session focuses on addressing the many symptoms of Parkinson’s through the medium of Dance. The sessions are flexible with both seated and standing sequences, with the whole session adaptable to seated if required. We cover a range of dance styles, helping with fluidity of movement, postural stability, strength, balance, social engagement and a big boost to mental health and overall wellbeing. We also cover voice work too, with time for all important tea and chat at the end of the session! Carers are welcome to attend or use the time as respite. Importantly no dance experience is necessary, come along and give it a try!

Delivered by experienced Dance Teacher Sarah Hartley. Sarah has been teaching Dance with Parkinson’s sessions for the past nine years throughout Gloucestershire, after completing her training in 2016 with Dance for Parkinson’s Brooklyn, People Dancing and Danielle Teale (ENB).
