Playing at The Theatre

Thu 20th June

Hailing from Iceland, Woman at War is an intelligent, feel-good drama that takes on the environmental issues of our era with great humour and stunning cinematography.

Halla, part-time choir mistress and part time climate change activist, sets out to disrupt the operations of a factory in the Icelandic highlands. With her trusty bow and arrow, she repeatedly damages pylons and wires to cut their power supply.

When a long-forgotten application to adopt an orphan is suddenly approved, Halla must evade the growing police investigation whilst balancing her beliefs and her new family. Hilarious, surprising and poignant.

"Featuring a go-for-broke central performance from Halldora Geirharosdottir." - The Times
