RIVAL QUEENS

Prof Kate Williams

Playing at The Theatre

Sat 27th April

How did two cousins, Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I, become such deadly rivals? Broadcaster and historian Kate Williams has elegantly combined royal biography with political thriller, and will unfold the story afresh in her talk about Rival Queens. Going back to the original letters and archives, Kate has created an electrifying new perspective on both Mary and on Elizabeth and, ultimately, on the great sacrifices a woman must make to be a queen.

Kate will be interviewed by Zool Verjee.
