RHIANNON EVANS GALLERY EXHIBITION
About the Artist
Rhiannon Evans’ community- based visual art practice uses conversation, collaborative making and playful interventions to uncover hidden relationships with personal and collective tradition and archival narrative. Rhiannon completed her BA Fine Art at Central St Martins College ( 2011), MA at Camberwell College ( 2016) and is based in North Oxfordshire.
About the exhibition
Contingent Passages draws on Rhiannon’s work with ArtistDevelopers collective residences in north Norway (2016 -2018).
The residencies focused on challenges related to the sea and climate, through the use of experimental and new technology and explored the geo-political shift affecting the landscape and community of the town Melbu, its heritage and future.
Contingent Passages includes photograms and pinhole photographs made during the residencies, alongside pastel paintings and reflections created on her return. These record and reveal her personal experiences as a temporary resident and collaborative creator in this Arctic community - connections made, stories shared, actions taken and reflections recorded.
