As a result of the recent Covid 19 Pandemic, we are increasingly using online workshops to deliver our participatory work in the community.
We have put a number of procedures in place to ensure that users are protected and comfortable.
All online workshops involving young people or vulnerable adults are ‘hosted’ and safeguarded by a DBS checked member of The Theatre’s staff. Links to the zoom workshops will be sent out, along with passwords, only to bookers. Please do not forward or share this information with anyone else. If the workshop link is leaked and is accessed by people outside the Youth Theatre, the session will be shut down to ensure the safety of all participants.
We ask participants to access workshops from a space where they won’t be disturbed by others, and where they are free to move about and make noise. If possible we ask that it is not their bedroom.
Participants will be let into each zoom workshop via a Waiting Room. Please ensure their zoom name is accurate when they enter the room, as this will not be changeable once in the workshop. Participants will not be able to join the workshop before the host from The Theatre lets them in. All video recording is disabled within our zoom workshops, as is the chat function to anyone other than the host.
If your child has any additional needs we should know about, or might need any extra support with these online workshops, please contact us and let us know so we can ensure your child is supported to access the workshop.
We expect the same behaviour from participants as when they come to The Theatre. Anyone who is acting outside of these boundaries will be removed from the session. We will let parents know if this takes place, using the emergency contact details you have provided for your child. Please call us and let us know if these details have changed.
