The Theatre Chipping Norton ‘Head above Water’ Campaign.

As The Theatre floats in a worrying period of closure, almost all of our income ceases. We receive crucial public authority funding, but this makes up just a few percent of what we need to survive.

Could you make a donation to help support The Theatre through a challenging few months and keep this gorgeous institution safe for generations to come?

Why we need your support:

In normal times The Theatre is a busy regional theatre providing the local community with drama, music, cinema, comedy, art and a huge range of participatory activities for people of all ages and from all walks of life.

The Theatre is also a registered charity (no 268154), receiving welcome support from donors, legacies, Patrons, Friends, Corporate Sponsors, Charitable Trusts, Parish Councils, Chipping Norton Town Council and West Oxfordshire District Council -  but it always needs to raise more money to continue delivering top-notch Homegrown productions, provide creative and inspiring community and education projects, and develop new projects.

Closing the building takes away most of our income stream, and while running costs will be reduced they still outweigh our income.

Your donation, however large or small will help ensure The Theatre keeps afloat, ready to greet, and entertain you in better times.

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your gift go further by choosing the Gift Aid option. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 25 pence from HM Revenue & Customs, helping your donation go further. This means that £10 can be turned into £12.50. Imagine what a difference that could make - and it doesn’t cost you a thing.

Thank you - your support really is appreciated.

A Breath of Fresh Air

This quirky old building is a big part of what makes The Theatre so special to so many people. Like an elderly aunt it gives a lot, but in return it expects an awful lot of TLC.

The elements haven’t been kind of late and the old girl’s sprung a few leaks, so much so that a patch here and there is no longer an option, and it’s time for a proper, lasting, fix.

Could you help our appeal to fund lasting repairs and replacements?

Securing the roof will help secure The Theatre’s future, and while we are working on the roof we’d love to improve our air conditioning too, breathing fresh air into the auditorium to make your vist more comfortable.

Support our Community and Education activities:

Help us deliver a broad range of community activities and workshops, from Remini-sing interactive singing sessions for people with Dementia and their carers, to Great Company drama sessions for adults with learning difficulties, and Take Part Bursaries, a crucial part of our community programme, giving focus to, and welcoming those to the theatre who wouldn’t otherwise have access.  Help our complimentary ‘Community Tickets’ scheme - providing local people experiencing hardship with a little enjoyment and entertainment at a difficult time in their lives, and encourage young theatre audiences through subsidised tickets.
