Come along tomorrow morning and meet artists Heather Power and Alison Dupernex whose exhibition 'Riot of Colour' is currently showing in the Gallery at The Theatre Chipping Norton.

Heather Power's talent involves fusing and kiln forming glass to wear as jewellery and to use as functional, yet delicately beautiful, dishes and coasters. Alison Dupernex uses Italian silk, Scottish cashmere and Welsh tweed to create works of art that are wearable, warm and striking. Classical knitwear with a contemporary twist.

After weeks of singing and dance rehearsals, careful character preparation, set construction, prop building, costume making and general busyness the 2009/10 Chipping Norton pantomime opened yesterday to 2 sell out audiences.  Last minute touches are being made ahead of tonight's press night after which there will only be another 85 chances to catch the show though some performances have already sold out.

This year's tale is Dick Whittington and his Cat by Ben Crocker.  Join us in the fourteenth century as Dick and his amazing cat, Tommy, venture up to London and to adventures beyond.  Expect great tunes, belly-laughs of fun, lots of shouting and, of course, plenty of throw away sweets in the cosy warmth of one of England's most special, and award winning, theatres.

We are thrilled to announce that The Theatre Chipping Norton won The Stage Award for Special Achievement in Regional Theatre at last night's TMA Theatre award ceremony.  The Theatre was nominated by Sarah Maxfield of Oxford Inspires for "its work bringing nationally and regionally important work to smaller rural communities" and is the first reader nominated organisation to win the award which is sponsored by The Stage newspaper and the Theatrical Management Association.
Other nominees included Chichester Festival Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East for its Musical Theatre Training Programme, The Corn Exchange in Newbury and the Schools Theatre Support Group.
The award, which recognises the importance of regional theatres and companies on the wider theatre scene, was presented at the Lyric, Hammersmith by Murray Melvin who himself has a long standing association with The Theatre.
